A Farewell to Arms (1932): A tale of the love between ambulance driver Lt. Henry (Gary Cooper) and Nurse Catherine Barkley (Helen Hayes) during World War I. The film explores the futility of war and the chilling effect it has on the emotion of those trapped in its web.

The Black Pirate (1926): This silent movie classic is full of firsts. It was both produced and written by Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. who also was the principal star. It was also one of the first features shot entirely in Technicolor. Fairbanks stars as a wronged nobleman who signs up with a gang of pirates in order to seek retribution for the death of his father. The amazing action scenes highligh Fairbanks Sr.'s astounding prowess in swordsmanship.
